Impact Windows: Price Estimates from some vendors

Aquarius Condominium

Other vendors:  This is a very small sample of additional reputable Impact Windows vendors, shop around for discounts:

RC Home Showcase: This is the provider of balcony railings for Hallmark Condominium, 3800 S. Ocean Drive, Holywood FL 33019. It is the installer for most Impact Windows for individual owners. Vendor informs the prices are negotiable.

Impact Windows and Glass   –  J. Scott Sandstrom                954-294-3553

Hannes Hurricane  Shutters and Windows     – Allie               954-458-6866

Notes:

Prices above are indicative and subject to change and negotiation with vendors.

South Tower owners must coordinate with Structural Preservation Systems – SPC installation dates so the work is according SPC schedule. North Tower owners can do it right now. North Tower owners need just the Management Office registration and approval until 40 Re Certification balconies works start. After that a coordination with SPC is necessary.

Questions to be asked before hiring any vendor: (1) Warranty? (2) Delivery time? (3) Permits? (4) Full Shutters removal? Is mortar waterproofed and finished inside and out? (5) License? (6) Liability and Workmen’s Comp. policies? Out of the door comprehensive cost? City Permit included? (7) Warranty?  (8) Have you checked the Better Business Bureau  – BBB –  rating of the vendor of your choice?

Old Shutters must be fully removed (top, bottom, sides), caulking, waterproofing, and prime painting must be part of vendor contract.

All Aquarius  C.A. rules on Contractors must be followed. They include hallway floor protection, deposit, exhibit of workmen’s compensation, liability insurance, license, City Permit, etc. Please check with Management Office.

Specifications for the installation of impact windows at Aquarius

Should I have Impact Windows?

https://aquariusuno.com/floor-plans/aquarius-apartment-windows-specifications/

After your impact windows installed you should have:

  • Full hurricane protection 27/7/365 – Not to worry to maintain or close shutters.
  • Less outside sound. Peace and quiet in your home.
  • Less Air Conditioning expenses. The windows tend to save a lot on energy costs. Thermal protection varies with the glass purchased.
  • Reduced sun damage of interior furniture and belongings. Protection is invisible from inside the property.
  • Installations usually takes a couple of days. Ordering the custom made windows and obtaining the City of Hollywood permit takes a few weeks. Six weeks from start to finish a project is not uncommon.
  • Possible insurance discounts and smaller deductibles.
The above information has not been approved or reviewed
by the Aquarius Board of Directors. This is for the benefit of owners
contemplating the installation of Impact Windows.

(Dvořák / Fisher)

Going home, going home
I’m jus’ going home
Quiet like, some still day
I’m jus’ going home

It’s not far, yes close by
Through an open door
Work all done, care laid by
Going to fear no more

Mother’s there ‘specting me
Father’s waiting, too
Lots of folk gathered there
All the friends I knew

All the friends I knew

I’m going home

Nothing lost, all’s gain
No more fret nor pain
No more stumbling on the way
No more longing for the day
Going to roam no more

Morning star lights the way
Restless dream all done
Shadows gone, break of day
Real life yes begun

There’s no break, ain’t no end
Jus’ a livin’ on
Wide awake with a smile
Going on and on

Going home, going home
I’m jus’ going home
It’s not far, yes close by
Through an open door
I’m jus’ going home

Going home, going home

Cecilio-Augusto Berndsen – Candidate for the Aquarius Board of Directors 2018

Cecilio-Augusto Berndsen
Candidate for the Aquarius Board of Direc
tors 2018

Cecílio-Augusto Berndsen

For the third year I would like to ask for your vote. I am running for the Board of Directors again.

Why should you vote for me?

We are in the middle of very important projects: 40 Year Re-Certification, Elevators renewal, hallways. Let’s try to increase the pace of work with people that are familiar with the projects details.

I will work tirelessly for the use of proper competitive procurement procedures where the best contractors with the best price are hired.

I am a full time Aquarius resident that devotes time, effort and the best of my knowledge to help the Community occupy the place it deserves: well managed, well maintained, safe, harmonious and well informed.

The IRMA Hurricane was not kind to Aquarius. We had Water Cooling Towers destruction; hallways contaminated and water intrusion among other losses. We are working diligently to make sure the Insurance companies make good their promises.

Participation is key and I value the Aquarius Committees work that contribute to the Condominium and help the Board and Management to achieve the desired goals.

My promise is to work even harder and get these large projects completed.

Without your vote and support this work will suffer. Let’s do it. Together we can rebuild Aquarius.

Bhagwan (Buck) Gupta – Candidate for the Aquarius Board of Directors 2018

Bhagwan (Buck) Gupta – Candidate for the Aquarius Board of Directors  2018

Having served as Chief Facilities Officer in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, I oversaw maintenance of 300 plus school sites as well as supervised the construction program ranging from $200,000 for renovations, to building brand new High Schools, Middle Schools, and Elementary Schools costing millions of dollars, under a Bond Issue passed by voters for 1.3 billion dollars in 1988.

Since retiring in 2007, I had been active in the community by serving on the Board as Director at Kendall Gate Condo Association.  This is a community consisting of 214 units, having three (3) distinct buildings in a gated community.  During that time, we (the Board) managed  to increase the regular monthly maintenance charges as well as levy a special assessment for capital projects to meet the 40-year re-certification, including waterproofing, exterior painting, paving, electrical lighting, and major structural balcony repairs.

In November 2015, my wife and I decided to downsize our home and elected to purchase a unit at Aquarius with the belief that this property had a lot of potential based on its prime location. In January 2016, the unit owners elected me to serve on the Board to oversee the major capital improvements to our property. Since that time, the Board approved a major special assessment to make long overdue structural repairs including but not limited to building a new beach access pool, installing new glass balcony railings, and upgrading electrical systems to meet the 40-year re-certification requirements.

During the last two years of my tenure serving as President of the Board, I have experienced many ups and downs based upon the many challenges in repairing existing facility in order to provide a safe and pleasant environment for all the unit owners in our community. I fully realize that the work we started, while a member of your current board, is nowhere near being 50% completed at this time; however, I do want to thank all unit owners for placing their confidence in my abilities to initiate many challenges with their untiring support.

If re-elected, I will continue to serve and represent all unit owners to the best of my abilities.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 786-402-4269 or e-mail me at bgupta1@yahoo.com.

In 1972 I began Stonimpex, Inc. a construction and import exporter of stone, marble and tile. It became one of the first certified women owned business enterprises in the State of New York (MWBE). In 1984 I began Stonimpex Gallery as a wholly owned subsidiary. I closed both businesses in 2003 when I retired.

From 1981 to 1995 I worked in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York in Westbury, Long Island.

GOALS

To continue to make and keep our Aquarius Condominium the absolute best it can possibly be. I want to augment the value of each and every Aquarius unit in the most economically viable way. I will utilize my many years of experience in negotiating contracts and in running a successful business to best accomplish this goal.
